The Washington Post interviewed Professor Larry Rosenthal in an article entitled, “Obama, Democrats Not Ready to Play 14th Amendment Card with Debt Ceiling.”  The article explored the possibility of President Obama simply declaring the debt ceiling unconstitutional to be done with it.  Professor Rosenthal told the Washington Post he doubted that could work. “What the government can’t do under the 14th Amendment is repudiate a debt that’s been authorized by law.
