Presiding Justice David G. Sills of California’s Fourth District Court of Appeal died on August 23 at the age of 73. Justice Sills was a longstanding member of the Dean’s Council and Board of Visitors at Chapman University School of Law. “Justice Sills was a great friend of the law school at Chapman,” said law school Dean Tom Campbell. “He served on the Board of Visitors for many years and helped us immensely with our trial practice courses. The Chapman Law community grieves with Justice Sills’ family over his loss.” In lieu of flowers, Justice Sills’ family has asked that donations in his memory be made to the Chapman University School of Law. Donations will be used to establish the Justice David G. Sills Scholarship Fund that will benefit all Chapman law school students.
