Chapman University Dale E. Fowler School of Law Professor Nancy Schultz’s fourth edition of
Persuasive Legal Writing
, co-authored with Louis J. Sirico, Jr., was released by Wolters Kluwer in January 2015.
Persuasive Legal Writing
offers complete instruction, exercises and examples to teach students how to frame and assert arguments. The new edition includes a new chapter on applying storytelling principles to legal argument, a chapter on using visuals in support of persuasive arguments, examples of empirical studies and analysis that support lessons throughout the book and new examples of particularly appealing use of language.
Nancy Schultz
is a professor of law and director of the Competitions and Alternative Dispute Resolutions Program at Chapman University Dale E. Fowler School of Law. She has co-authored four texts in the research and writing field, and organized and presented numerous programs at national and international gatherings of legal writing professionals and other legal educators. She has also authored four articles on legal education and lectured on the subject at the JAG School of Charlottesville, Virginia. In addition, she conducts workshops on legal writing, negotiations and client counseling for practicing lawyers in private firms, corporations and government agencies.
