whitney stefkoChapman University Dale E. Fowler School of Law alumna Whitney Stefko (’12) was recognized this month by Engineering News-Record California as a “Top Young Professional” for 2017.

The weekly engineering and construction industry magazine honors a select number of professionals annually for the list, formerly called the “Top 20 Under 40,” based on reader nominations. The selection process is based on leadership skills, industry work, and community service.

Stefko is Of Counsel with the Orange County and Los Angeles offices of Haight Brown & Bonesteel LLP, where she is a member of the firm’s Professional Liability, Construction Law, and Product Liability practice groups. She has successfully resolved hundreds of cases through informal resolution, prevailed on numerous summary judgment motions, and participated in trial preparation and proceedings, including second-chairing trials.

Admitted to practice in California and the U.S. District Courts in both the Central and Southern Districts of California, she is also a member of the Association of Southern California Defense Counsel, National Association of Women Lawyers, Orange County Bar Association, Southern California Development Forum, and the Urban Land Institute.

At Chapman, Stefko was a Senior Symposium Editor for the Chapman Law Review and served as Vice President of Mediation for the Alternative Dispute Resolution Board. She also earned a CALI Award for her exemplary work in the law school’s Mediation Clinic.
