Chapman University Dale E. Fowler School of Law students Brianna Ruiz (JD ‘18) and Grace Nguyen (JD ‘18) took home the first place title last weekend at the annual Juvenile Law Moot Court Competition in Costa Mesa, California.

Nguyen was also recognized as second-place oral advocate and Ruiz was recognized as the 10th-place oral advocate in preliminary rounds. Ruiz and Nguyen were one of two teams competing in the event; Caitlin Ramsey (JD ‘18) and Suneeta Israni (JD ‘18) also attended and advanced to the quarterfinal round.

Chapman Law students also competed at the regional round of the National Trial Competition in Los Angeles. Andrea Campbell (JD ‘17), Ryan Cooper (JD ‘18), and Lindsay Joanou (JD ‘18) advanced to the semifinal round of the competition, while Joshua Allton (JD ‘17), Dallin Durbano (JD ‘18), and Emily Marsh (JD ‘18) finished in the quarterfinal round.
