Fowler School of Law Receives Special Recognition from Consulate of Mexico at Labor Rights Event

Fowler School of Law Dean Matt Parlow accepts a certificate of special recognition from Mario Cuevas, Consul of Mexico
Chapman University Dale E. Fowler School of Law hosted the Consulate of Mexico’s annual Labor Rights Week Kickoff on Saturday. The event is a collaborative effort between the Mexican Consulate and the United States Department of Labor, United States Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, National Labor Relations Board, and other labor organizations which strive to increase awareness and inform workers and employers about the their rights and responsibilities under United States labor laws.
Fowler School of Law was honored at the event with a certificate of special recognition from the Consulate of Mexico and United States Representative Lou Correa’s office for its participation. Dean Matt Parlow accepted the certificate on behalf of the law school from Consul of Mexico for Orange County Mario Cuevas.

The event included an opening ceremony with distinguished speakers, a keynote address by former congresswoman and Chapman alumna Loretta Sanchez ’82, and panels on illegal workplace practices and labor discrimination and harassment. Former California State Senator Joe Dunn served as the luncheon speaker.
