Launch Week 2025
August 18, 2025
Orientation Week preceding the start of the fall semester sets the perfect tone and gets the academic year off to the best possible start for new arrivals at Fowler School of Law. Newly admitted 1L students, along with friends, family and partners are immersed in the buzz of law school life as faculty, the Careers Services Office team, our various student communities, the library team and academic support staff roll out the red carpet and welcome this new, and (most credentialed admitted class on record) to Kennedy Hall, and the Chapman Family.
As this budding 1L class as settles in for what promises to be a fantastic academic year, the welcome mat was rolled out with a mock law class on Socratic method, presented by Professor Nahal Kazemi, a session on the exceptional support offered to students through our Academic Achievement program and numerous workshops with the Fowler Law Library team, Career Services Office, Student Affairs team and current students.
The week buzzed with activity as students were introduced to law school life and their chosen profession. Deans Paul Paton and Mario Mainero hosted a session on civility and professionalism with guest and appellate court judge Justice Nathan Scott who impressed upon students the importance of the traditions of decorum, civility and common decency in the noble profession of law. First generation Fowler students were given a warm Chapman welcome by Dr. Gabriela Castaneda, Vice President of Chapman’s First-Generation and Promising Futures Programs and we closed the week out with an oath of professionalism led by Dean Paton in front friends, family, partners and significant others in Kennedy Hall, followed by a scrumptious sit-down lunch with new classmates, staff, faculty, friends and family.
Welcome to Fowler School of Law one and all, we can’t wait to see what this promising year has in store for you!
