Chapman University Dale E. Fowler School of Law’s competition team narrowly missed a title at the National Pretrial Competition in Florida last weekend. Charles Henninger (JD ’16), Lorin Herzfeldt (JD ’16), Jessica Roundy (JD ’16) and Jeremy Talcott (JD ’16) made up one of only 16 total teams admitted to the competition. The competition is the only one of its kind as it tests students in brief-writing, oral arguments and trial advocacy. After finishing preliminary rounds with a record of 2-1, the Fowler School of Law team missed the semifinal in a close tie-breaker. As part of the competition, teams are expected to write two briefs — one for the plaintiff and one for the defense. One of Fowler School of Law’s briefs placed second in its category and the team’s total brief score placed them third overall in that portion of the competition.

Congratulations to our students for their hard work!
