Chapman University Dale E. Fowler School of Law Professors Ronald Rotunda and David Gibbs were recently named to the
2016 Los Angeles “Best Lawyers”
list by
Best Lawyers
magazine. Professor Rotunda was listed in the Ethics and Professional Responsibility section. Professor Gibbs was listed in the Alternative Dispute Resolution section of the list.

The “Best Lawyers” ranking results are based on a rigorous evaluation process that includes peer review from leading attorneys in their field. This is the sixth consecutive year that Professor Rotunda has been included in the list. While Professor Gibbs has been listed in
Best Lawyers
for two years in the Los Angeles area and for several years previously in Boston, this year he was named “Arbitrator of the Year” for Orange County for his work during breaks from teaching.

Ronald Rotunda
is the Doy & Dee Henley Chair and Distinguished Professor of Jurisprudence. He has co-authored the most widely used course book on legal ethics,
Problems and Materials on Professional Responsibility
(Foundation Press, 11th ed., 2011). He is also the co-author of
Legal Ethics: The Lawyer’s Deskbook on Professional Responsibility
(American Bar Association and West Group, 10th ed., 2012). He has written several other books and articles in various law reviews, journals, newspapers, in the United States and in Europe. He teaches Constitutional Law I and II, and Professional Responsibility at Fowler School of Law.

Professor David Gibbs’
teaching focuses on experiential education to help students develop and integrate their knowledge of the law, skills and values to become effective and ethical lawyers. Before joining the Fowler School of Law faculty, he was a Practitioner in Residence at Suffolk University Law School where he established the first Investor Advocacy Clinic in New England. He is a former partner at Bowditch & Dewey, LLP and NixonPeabody, LLP in Boston, where he focused on corporate governance and planning, business litigation and alternative dispute resolution. He began practice as a trial lawyer and later developed a national practice in dispute resolution as a mediator, arbitrator and designer of dispute resolution systems. Professor Gibbs is a founder of the Massachusetts Innovation and Technology Exchange. He regularly speaks on dispute resolution and experiential education. Professor Gibbs is AV rated and has been listed in Massachusetts and New England Super Lawyers based on the reviews of other lawyers.
