The May edition of the Orange County Bar Association’s (OCBA) Orange County Lawyer magazine features some faces familiar to Chapman University Dale E. Fowler School of Law. Four alumni – Caroline Hahn (JD ’03), Eric Dominguez (JD ’10), Michelle Tran (JD ’10), and Nesa Targhibi (JD ’13) – are featured on the issue’s cover for their work as OCBA affiliate bar presidents.

Caroline Hahn (JD ‘03) – Orange County Korean American Bar Association (OCKABA)

Hahn began her career as an Orange County Deputy Public Defender and now owns her own practice, the Law Office of Caroline R. Hahn, specializing in criminal defense and immigration.

The primary mission of OCKABA is to serve the community and to provide networking opportunities for Korean American attorneys. It also provides pro bono clinics on a monthly basis in Garden Grove and Buena Park, where attorneys provide legal consultations on various areas of the law.

Eric Dominguez (JD ‘10)– Hispanic Bar Association of Orange County (OCHBA)

Dominguez is an attorney with David Hirson & Partners, LLP, where he leads the firm’s non-EB-5 practice area focusing on immigrant and nonimmigrant visas for families, as well as small, mid-size, and large multi-national clients in industries including entertainment, technology, and pharmaceuticals.

The OCHBA advocates for a legal community that reflects the true diversity of Orange County, and aims to increase opportunities for Latinos to access the legal profession, succeed as attorneys, and serve the community. It provides professional enrichment and networking for members, and recently formed a partnership with the Mexican Consulate in Santa Ana to provide legal services to underserved community members.

Michelle Tran (JD ‘10) – Orange County Women Lawyers Association (OCWLA)

Tran is Of Counsel at Core Law Group, a full-service law firm serving Los Angeles, Orange, and Riverside counties.

OCWLA is dedicated to advancing women in the legal profession. Each year, the organization awards stipends to law school graduates studying for the California State Bar, and provides financial support for organizations such as the Public Law Center.

Nesa Targhibi (JD ‘13)– Iranian American Bar Association – Orange County Chapter (IABA-OC)

Targhibi is president of Holborn Law, where she directs the estate planning and tax law departments and shares responsibilities with fellow alumnus Karel Raba (JD ’13) on immigration and corporate matters.

The IABA-OC seeks to educate and inform the Iranian-American community about legal issues of interest and to ensure that the American public, local representatives, and other government officials are accurately informed on legal matters of interest to the community. It has grown since its founding in 2000 to include nine chapters nationwide. IABA-OC hosts networking and MCLE events throughout the year.
