If you have walked past the reference area recently, you may have noticed a new addition fluttering about. Bringing a bit of whimsy to the study area, this was an art installation created by student artist Sophie Goldberg ’17 for her Concepts in Contemporary Art course. Sophie chose to hang cranes – symbolizing peace and hope – in a study area often frequented by stressed-out students. She hopes that her project brought a sense of calming presence to this space for a short time. The cranes were a short-term installation, but we hope that Sophie will submit to future student art exhibits!
