Investigating Resources at the Leatherby Libraries: Resources for Film Students
December 13, 2019
Film students at the Dodge College of Film & Media Arts have a unique course of education with projects demanding special requirements in comparison to other majors. At the Leatherby Libraries, it is essential to offer everything possible for students of all majors, even those in Dodge.
As a Dodge student myself, I have found several helpful resources at the Leatherby Libraries that may not be popularly known.
Services offered:
- Kanopy: An online database with over 30,000 films and documentaries; check it out at https://chapman.kanopy.com/
- Film Scripts Online, through Alexander Street; students can read film scripts available at https://search.alexanderstreet.com/afso
- Script Collection: There is a collection of scripts screenplays on the third floor with our Film/TV books.
- Dodge Media Library: The John and Donna Crean Library of Film and Television, located on the third floor of the library, includes a vast and diverse collection of DVDs, VHS, and Blu-Ray films available for checkout. If there is a film you would like to request, share it at https://www.chapman.edu/library/about/suggestions-comments.aspx
- Subject Liaison Librarian: Annie Tang serves as a Subject Liaison Librarian for Film & Media Arts. Annie can be contacted by email, phone, or in-person during her reference desk hours. She can help with finding research sources in addition to answering questions.
