The Leatherby Libraries is pleased to offer faculty and staff access to the New York Times website.

The Student Government Association has provided access to the New York Times for students for several years, so with this new addition, we are finally able to offer access to all users at Chapman University.

To gain access, faculty and staff users must register for an account following the steps below:

  • Go to https://nytimesineducation.com/access-nyt/.
  • Search for “Chapman University” and select the option that says “Chapman University News – Orange, CA (Faculty Only).” It will be the second option listed under the option for student access.
  • Follow the steps to register for a new account or log in with a pre-existing profile. There will be separate links to click depending on whether you are on or off campus.
  • Once registered, access the website through the main URL, https://libguides.chapman.edu/new_york_times!

Students may continue to gain access to the New York Times website via the subscription provided by the Student Government Association at http://nytimesaccess.com/chapman/.

This access is to the New York Times website and is separate from the library’s subscriptions to databases that contain the text of NYT articles. However, it does not provide access to the cooking or crosswords sections or the e-reader edition, although users can download the mobile app when they sign up.
