After a three-year hiatus, the 3rd Annual Orange County Archives Bazaar finally comes back to life!
OC Archives in Action “brings together libraries, special collections, and cultural institutions. Showcasing materials from these collections, this event highlights the known and unknown stories of Orange County.” The showcase also had displays, discussions, presentations, and activities.
Both the Frank Mt. Pleasant Library of Special Collections and Archives and the Sala and Aron Samueli Holocaust Memorial Library teams were part of the Bazaar. Members of both teams introduced the public to unique Chapman University collections and archives such as the 160th anniversary banner, a commemorative shovel from the groundbreaking of the Hilbert Museum extension, and images from the United Press International photographs collection showcasing images from the conservation movement of the 1960s and early 1970s.
According to the OC Archives Bazaar Planning Committee, the event welcomed 1,685 visitors. This included 469 at the Artist Studios, 388 in the Gallery, and 828 in Hangar 244.
