For the first time ever, the Leatherby Libraries and Information Services & Technology (IS&T) department will be presenting at the Parent Spring Summit!

Librarians and IS&T staff will collaborate on two presentations for the upcoming 2024 Parent Spring Summit. These presentations aim to provide parents with relevant information on artificial intelligence and information security in higher education to keep them and their students safe.

“Everything You Need to Know About AI”

Presented by: Taylor Greene, Chair of Research and Instructional Services

& Anna Alber, Senior Research Scientist

This presentation will explore the emerging role of AI in academia. The first portion of the presentation will introduce the concept of AI Literacy and describe how it reaches students from all majors through incorporation into the First-Year Foundations program. After introducing the basics of AI, Anna will expand on the topic by introducing key issues surrounding the usage of AI that parents should know about for themselves and their students.
