Calling all Undergraduate students at Chapman University! Have you used library resources to write a research paper or complete a project this year? If so, the Leatherby Libraries invites you to apply to the 2026 Kevin and Tam Ross Undergraduate Research Prize! This prize recognizes the effective usage of library resources that results in excellent research.

Everything You Need to Know Before You Apply

  • This prize is open to all undergraduate students at Chapman University who have completed a research project or paper.
    • Applications from all disciplines are welcome. Whether you are a Dodge or Crean student, we welcome research across disciplines.
  • To apply, students must submit an application form and write a 600-800-word essay explaining how they utilized the library’s resources and services to complete their research.
  • Applications can be submitted individually or as a group.
  • First, second, and third-place winners will receive a cash prize.
    • In addition to a cash prize, winners will receive recognition on the Leatherby Libraries’ blog and social media, a certificate, and their winning application will be showcased on the Chapman University Digital Commons. Winners will also be able to publish their final project on the Chapman University Digital Commons, and the Leatherby Libraries will host a small celebration to honor our prize recipients.
