Visit the newest exhibit in the Leatherby Libraries’ Hall of Art, Sketching Chapman, illustrated by Chapman University Senior, Lizzie Bork ’26. Her work includes drawings of many of Chapman’s iconic buildings, including Memorial Hall, The George and Julianne Argyros Forum, The Arnold and Mabel Beckman Business and Technology Hall, and more!

Bork drew inspiration from the beauty of Chapman’s campus, where she photographed each building, then drew on her unique Chapman experience as a reference for the illustrations. As she graduates this spring, she wants her artwork to pay homage to her experience at Chapman University and resonate with the rest of the Panther community.

About the Artist:

“As a graphic design major at Chapman University, I’ve been drawing for as long as I can remember, and art has always played a central role in my life. Before the pandemic, my focus was largely on the performing arts, particularly opera, where I trained for years and envisioned a future on stage. During the lockdown, I began to reconsider that path and turned more intentionally toward visual art as a creative and professional outlet.

This naturally led me to Live Event Sketching, a practice in which I create on-site guest illustrations as interactive entertainment at events. This work allows me to blend my knowledge of figure drawing and fashion illustration with my skills in performing arts to create a unique form of entertainment. While my business started primarily with weddings and small parties, it has quickly grown into large corporate events, pop-up activations, and brand collaborations. As I prepare to graduate in the spring, I look forward to expanding my business and working with more brands. My goal is to continue emerging as an illustrator in the fashion space and luxury retail while growing my graphic design skills through thoughtfully curated activations and cross-branded promotions.”
