The Leatherby Libraries is pleased to offer access to Bloomsbury BFI Classics.

This database contains 160 ebooks from the British Film Institute. This collection from the Film Classics series introduces, interprets, and celebrates landmarks of world cinema from the silent era to the 21st century.

Each title includes an argument for the film’s ‘classic’ status, a discussion of its production and reception history, its place within a genre or national cinema, an account of its technical and aesthetic importance, and in many cases, the author’s response to the film.

Please contact the Chair of Resources & Scholarly Communications Kristin Laughtin-Dunker at laughtin@chapman.edu or the University Archivist and the Film & Media Arts Librarian Annie Tang at awtang@chapman.edu for any questions.
