Dr. Razan Orfali, PhD ’21, received the Best Poster Award at the Ion Channel Modulation Symposium (ICMS) for her poster “Dual Activation of TMEM16A and TRPV4 by Eact: A Novel Therapeutic Strategy for Cystic Fibrosis?”. You can view the poster here.

Held annually in Cambridge, England, this international conference is attended by leading researchers in the industry. Currently serving as a postdoctoral researcher at King Fahad Medical City, Dr. Orfali was supported by Sophion Bioscience in her research process.

“I am grateful for the recognition and excited to continue contributing to the ion channels field,” says Dr. Orfali. Chapman University’s PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences allows students to explore a variety of research areas, such as molecular endocrimology, structural biology, drug design and discovery, and pharmacokinetics. Dr. Orfali credits Dr. Miao Zhang for introducing her to the field of ion channels while she was earning her PhD at Chapman.
