We are excited to share two remarkable achievements from the 2023 American Pharmacists Association (APhA) Annual Meeting and Exposition.

Firstly, we are delighted to announce that Dr. Marc Fleming, CUSP’s Chair of the Department of Pharmaceutical Economics and Policy, has been named a Fellow of the APhA. This is a distinguished honor that celebrates Dr. Fleming’s exceptional contributions to the pharmaceutical profession through his outstanding service, research, education, and advocacy. It is an honor to have Dr. Fleming as part of our faculty, where his expertise benefits both Chapman University and the pharmacists and researchers of tomorrow. As a carefully awarded title, Dr. Fleming is among only 12 individuals who received this award in 2023.

Secondly, we celebrate Mulan Homo (’24), a second-year PharmD candidate, for achieving a top-ten placement at the National Patient Counseling Competition. This competition is highly competitive and includes participants from all years of the PharmD programs, and involves navigating a series of community and state qualifiers in order to participate in nationals among hundreds of other PharmD candidates from across the country. Mulan’s achievement is a testament to her ability to be an excellent communicator, be truthful and positive when working directly with patients, and her commitment to excellence in patient education. We are immensely proud of Mulan and confident that she will continue to excel in her studies and career as a pharmacist.

These achievements exemplify the values of Chapman Pharmacy, where excellence is the standard. We are privileged to have such exceptional individuals as part of our community, and we look forward to witnessing their continued success. Congratulations to Dr. Fleming and Mulan on these well-deserved accomplishments!
