The Office of Research in collaboration with Financial Services is pleased to announce an expansion of methods for payments to Research Participants (Human Subjects) that will facilitate the expanding research efforts at Chapman. A working group of representatives from the faculty, Financial Services and the Office of Research used best practices and to develop procedures that support faculty and student research and meet IRS reporting requirements. The Procedures for Payments to Research Participants (Human Subjects) permits IRB approved studies for payments in the form of cash, gift cards and electronic tools. The procedures outline the responsibilities of researchers, the process for requesting funds, and IRS reporting requirements. Complete information can be found in the procedure link noted above.
