Chapman University will be screening The Island President documentary addressing climate change and rising sea levels.

The Island President is the story of President Mohamed Nasheed of the Maldives, and his efforts to confront climate change and rising sea levels.  A rise of three feet in sea level would submerge the 1,200 islands of the Maldives enough to make them uninhabitable.

Following the screening is a web discussion with the film’s director, Jon Shenk; Thilmeeza Hussain, former United Nations deputy permanent representative to the Maldives; May Boeve, 350.org executive director and cofounder; and Eban Goodstein, director of Bard CEP and the Bard MBA in Sustainability.
