Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, and Biology students hand-selected for medical technology internships
September 26, 2013
Fall semester is in full swing, and while the weather may be cooling down, several outstanding students are just starting to heat things up.
Earlier this semester, juniors and seniors in the Biochem, Molecular Biology, and Biology programs interviewed with Santa Ana-based medical technology company, Medtronic. After the interviews, six were selected to participate in internships. Gabby Stetz and Jonathan Woo were selected for Research & Development internships, in the cardiovascular division (biomaterials and biochemical assays). Mark Guirguis and Sarah Lanoie were selected to intern in Manufacturing & Development, within the cardiovascular division (tissue engineering). Last but not least, Johana Moreno and Cassaundra Khouri have been selected to intern in Microbiology, within the cardiovascular division.
All of the students will have the opportunity to learn about the three designated areas, but their work will focus in one area. For those that are juniors, if they choose to continue, Medtronic will help them develop a capstone project to be conducted at Medtronic.
Great job to our students! We look forward to hearing all about your internships!
