Join us for the 2nd installment of our Computer Science Forum series on Wednesday, October 2.  For our next forum, we’ve invited John Henry, Technical Director of EDSI, to speak on the topic of Cyber Security.

Mr. Henry will discuss the ubiquitous nature of cyber vulnerabilities in our nation and the controversial decision by the Department of Defense to make cyber a completely separate warfighting domain. Cyber and its relationship to the physical warfighting domains of air, land, sea, and space will be discussed along with the ramifications of creating a completely new warfighting domain. Mr. Henry will also discuss other federal government agencies’ approaches to creating a secure cyber environment.

John Henry has over 35 years experience in Information Technology and has been the Technical Director of EDSI for the last 25. In the last 10 years his main focus has been on computer security, where he developed a process to assess source code for vulnerabilities, and created an automated process to assess certification and accreditation testing for information technology acquisitions. He is currently assisting the Defense Information Systems Agency and United States Cyber Command as they wrestle with the ramifications of the Department of Defense declaring cyber a warfighting domain.

Snacks and beverages will be served. Please RSVP to Luci Bruner at (714) 628-7344 or bruner@chapman.edu.
