Q & A with Matthew Martinez
Schmid College: Tell us about yourself!
MM: I am from Albuquerque, New Mexico. I moved to Irvine, California in the fall of 2017 to pursue graduate school at the University of California, Irvine where I received my Master of Fine Arts in Drama with an emphasis in Costume Design during the summer of 2020. I was previously employed for the University of New Mexico during and post receiving my Bachelor of Fine Arts until my move to the west coast in 2017 where I was a Teacher’s Assistant at the University of California Irvine until graduating in 2020. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with family, running, attending concerts, sewing, drawing, digital rendering, and crafting!
SC: What are you most excited about with this position?
MM: I am excited to be a new member of Schmid College of Science and Technology and look forward to collaborating and developing new skills with the staff and faculty.
SC: Share a fun fact about yourself.
MM: I have an identical twin brother.
SC: Is there anything else you would like to share with our Schmid College community?
MM: 2022 marked a new start for me in Orange County, and I would not be here without Chapman bringing me on as a new member, thank you!
