On Tuesday, September 29, 2015 #1 New York Times bestselling author, Cheryl Strayed, will be visiting Chapman University to discuss her book Wild: From Lost to Found on the Pacific Coast Trail.  Leading up to this exciting night we will be hosting micro events surrounding the WILD concept.

On Monday, September 21, 2015, College of Educational Studies will be hosting a Film Screening and Campfire Session of Schools Out: Forest Kindergarten in Argyros Forum 209A, 4-6 p.m.

Schools Out: Forest Kindergarten is a documentary about children 4 to 7 years of age who go to kindergarten in the woods every day. This eye-opening film follows the forest kindergarten through the seasons of one school year and looks into the important question of what it is that children need at that age. It’s a combination of pure observational footage of the children at kindergarten in the forest, paired with interviews with parents, teachers, child development experts, and alumni, offering the viewers a genuine look into the forest kindergarten.

After the film, facilitators and those attending will discuss the film and it’s concept.

Here’s a sneak peak and what can be expected.
