Dear Chapman Instructors and Staff,

It is now possible to create custom playlists using YuJa.  Below please find instructions for creating and sharing a YuJa playlist.

Creating your playlist

Access YuJa by navigating to video.chapman.edu or by clicking on YuJa in the left-side navigation menu of a Canvas course.

Click on Playlists in the menu on the left.

Click on New Playlist in the menu at the top.

Enter a name for your new playlist, then select Save.

Adding individual videos from My Media to your playlist

In My Media, hover over a video that you would like to add to your playlist, then select More.

Select Actions, then select Add To Playlist.

Select the playlist you would like to add the video to, then select Save.

Inside the folder, in the menu at the top, select More Actions, then Select All.

In the More Actions menu, select Bulk Add To Playlist.

Select the playlist you would like to add the videos to, then select Save.

Rearranging the order of videos in your playlist

You can open your playlist by clicking on Playlists, then clicking on the name of the desired playlist in the menu on the left.

You can hold and drag videos to adjust the viewing order.  In the following example, “Using Zoom in Your Classroom” is the first video in the playlist, and “How to self-enroll in the Zoom-YuJa integration” is the last video in the playlist.

Adjusting the settings of your playlist

Click on Playlists in the menu on the left.

Hover over the desired playlist.  Click on the gear icon, then select More….

Note: If you do not see a gear icon when you hover over your playlist, then you need to adjust your view.  You can turn grid mode on by clicking on Grid Mode in the menu at the top.

By default, authentication is turned on for YuJa playlists.  This means that when you share your playlist, people will be asked to sign in before they can access it.  If you would like to turn off authentication for your playlist, click on Links in the menu on the left, then click on Security Settings.

Deselect Password or Authentication Restriction, then Save.

Sharing your playlist

Open your playlist by clicking on Playlists, then clicking on the name of the desired playlist in the menu on the left.

Click on More Actions in the menu at the top, then select Get Link.

You can copy the direct link to your playlist or the embed code if you would like to embed your playlist on a website.

Embedding a YuJa playlist in Canvas

It is also possible to embed a YuJa playlist on a page inside a Canvas course or Den.

Navigate to the page of your Canvas course/Den where you would like to embed your playlist.

Select Edit to edit the page.

Select the Apps icon, then select YuJa.

If you do not see YuJa, choose View All, then select YuJa in the list of apps.

In the Media Chooser, select the Playlists tab, then choose the playlist that you would like to embed on the page, then select Insert Content.
