Your back-to-school tech BINGO card
August 11, 2025
I belong to a book club, and this summer we were all about “book club bingo.” We filled out a blank bingo card with different genres and book ideas, and made our promises to read. I’ll admit I’m a completionist, and my bingo card is full, even the box I wasn’t excited about (memoir). One of my favorites was A Deadly Education by Naomi Novik. In this fantasy novel about a school without instructors, unfinished assignments animate themselves and attack the students. The students are highly motivated to turn their work in on time!
It felt so good to finish my card, I started to think about other things I need to complete, where a bingo card might come in handy. Housework? Getting financial papers in order? Or what about catching up on technology updates and changes for the fall semester? So let me present to you, Chapman Technology Bingo for Fall 2025 (online version with links):
In the first row, you will find information about the Chapman Syllabus. Did you know we are currently planning a phased rollout of a new syllabus template in Canvas?
In the second row, you will find videos from the Summer Software Showcase. Get caught up on what’s new with Zoom AI Companion, Panther AI, and a pilot for a new tool to create custom AI-powered apps, PlayLab.
In the third row, you will find a link on how to get involved with the pilot to quickly import grades from Canvas to the Faculty Center.
You’ll also find squares for investigating Panther AI, requesting a copy of the Student Success Canvas Template, and so much more.
Not sure where to start with new things? We are here to support you whether it’s Canvas, the Chapman Syllabus, learning about AI, or getting started with new and existing educational technologies on campus. Schedule a consultation or drop-in to our daily virtual support hours on Zoom.
