Hi there! My name is Taylor Collins and I am a Senior Strategic and Corporate Communication major with a double minor in Image Text Interface (with a Graphic Design Focus) and Italian Studies. I am fortunate enough to have been the Web Design and Content Creation intern for Tammy And Friends, LLC this semester.

One day, while I was scrolling through Handshake, I came across Tammy And Friends and various roles my employer was seeking out in interns for the Fall 2020 semester. I decided to give the President (Tammy Searle) a phone call. Shortly after, Tammy returned my call and my internship has been full of excitement since then! Tammy has been dedicated to her passion of teaching internet, technology, and travel safety for over 13 years, and is making strides to continue developing her business digitally. During the first few days at my internship as a Web Design and Content Creation intern for Tammy and Friends, I felt very welcomed onto the team. Given this was a virtual internship, we decided to connect and orient via Zoom, however we also had the option to communicate via phone, message, or Tammy’s project management software, teamwork.

My primary responsibilities as an intern were to regularly update the Tammy and Friends website using an “all-in-one CMS” known as Kajabi, help her to ideate and build a membership site as an online course for her customer base, as well as various other tasks. Some of these included researching and helping her organized the pre-sale and launch of the Tammy And Friends membership site, research social media management platforms, create templates to help guide other interns while using Kajabi, and continue adding to my skills in navigating the Kajabi platform. Because this platform is not as well known in my age group, having two years of prior experience with Kajabi has been a very helpful skill that I brought to the table. Not only did Tammy encourage me to continue familiarizing and building my skillset with this platform, she pushed me out of my comfort zone to dive in and learn new aspects of marketing strategy.

Another aspect of my internship this past semester that was very exciting to me is that Tammy encouraged me to explore of my own creative freedom. Having the opportunity to ideate potential concepts for creation, the website, or even changes in calendar dates for the pre-launch, allowed for me to gain confidence, experience, and skills for my future! Whether I received positive feedback, or ideas for areas of improvement, we built a strong, collaborative team. I am very grateful for this incredible opportunity at Tammy And Friends this past semester and how much I have gained from this experience, being able to do something I love for a company that pushed me to work towards excellence!
