What’s going on in the School of COM?

Lambda Pi Eta was established in 2012 and is one of 4 student groups in the School of Communication. Lambda Pi Eta creates opportunities to gain leadership skills, resume material, and insight into the realm of Communication academically, professionally, and personally. The organization works closely with their faculty advisor, Dr. Arleen Bejerano, and different student programs in the School of Communication, like the SoC Trailblazer program, Chapman Radio, and the Student Advisory Board. 

What is Lambda Pi Eta? 

Lambda Pi Eta is the National Communication Association’s official honor society at four-year colleges and universities nationwide. There are more than  500 active chapters in 47 states.

Who is eligible to join? 

If you are a Communication Studies major, Strategic and Corporate Communication major or Global Communication & World Languages major, you may be eligible to join Lambda Pi Eta. We also strongly encourage involvement from students who may not yet be eligible but are working toward eligibility (i.e. sophomores, or students with a GPA less than 3.0).

  • Students who have Completed at least 60 semester units and 12 credits in Communication Studies courses
  • Students with a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0
  • Students with a  major GPA of at least 3.3

What does the organization do?

Create opportunities to gain leadership skills, resume material, and insight into the realm of Communication academically, professionally, and personally.

What are some examples of Lambda Pi Eta Events & Programs?     

  • Resume and professional development workshops
  • Internship, independent study, alumni, faculty, and graduate student panels
  • Class registration workshops
