Wassup Panthers! My name is Gaurav Chintamneedi, but you can call me G for short! I am a Junior from San Diego, California, double majoring in Strategic & Corporate Communication and Political Science with a minor in Leadership Studies! As soon as I walked up the steps below the Wilson Football Field, I knew I had made the right decision by choosing Chapman University. Chapman’s small classes, strong alumni network, and beautiful campus all inspired my decision to come to school here. Ultimately, however, I felt a solid connection to Chapman’s community of students. I knew that the people I would be surrounded by on campus would help facilitate my growth personally and professionally!

My time at Chapman has been fantastic! I’ve used my time here to build meaningful relationships with my professors and have gotten heavily involved on campus, striving to make a difference for students and the campus. At Chapman, it is extremely easy to get involved in on-campus organizations, including clubs that encompass cultural and academic associations, on-campus jobs, research opportunities, etc. I currently serve as the Vice President of the South Asian Student Association (SASA), as an Orientation Leader, and a volunteer for the Office of Admissions. I have also been a part of Kappa Alpha Pi, Chapman’s only Co-Ed Pre-Law Fraternity, and served on the Judiciary Board for Student Government. My active involvement on campus has allowed me to develop strong leadership skills, gain real-life work experiences, and meet peers from different cultural backgrounds and academic aspirations. It has fostered my growth as an individual.

My passion for public speaking and inspiring others through verbal speech motivated me to add Strategic & Corporate Communication(SCC) as my second major. SCC’s program incorporates campaign strategies and organizational theories and teaches students social marketing. These unique assets distinguished Chapman’s Communication program from other schools and made my decision to become a Communication major easier. In addition, SCC is an excellent complimentary major and pairs well with other social science majors on campus. The combination of Political Science and Strategic & Corporate Communications fit well together, and I knew that it would help advance my professional career. My classes have allowed me to expand my professional horizon. Each Communication class has introduced me to different aspects of communication and its application in a corporate setting. My classes have inspired me to gain experience in advertising, influencer marketing, political media, and publicity. Although I’m still unsure what career path I plan on taking, the content I learn in class will lead me to a successful career with practical corporate communication applications.

My decision to apply for the School of Communication Student Advisory board stemmed from my interest in guiding other communication students throughout their time at Chapman. With a Communication major, you can pursue many careers, from Real Estate to Public Relations. However, communication is a comprehensive major, and with proper guidance, it may be easier for students to determine which career path they want to take. As a student advisory board member, I have the opportunity to become a peer mentor for students and help coordinate events that inform communication students about the different options available to them on and off campus.

I look forward to inspiring and motivating students to discover their true academic and professional passions. My advice and guidance can steer students toward a fulfilling college experience and a prosperous professional career. I’m excited to embark on this journey of peer mentorship and look forward to applying the communication skills I learned in my classes to guide those around me.
