Chapman University sponsored the Orange Unified School District’s second annual Celebration of Schools event on Wednesday, October 15, at Villa Park High School. The sponsorship helps fund equipment, supplies, and experiences that fall outside the scope of OUSD’s general or grant funding, directly enhancing students’ educational journey across the district.

“It’s a privilege for Chapman University’s faculty, staff, and students, who last year performed over 100,000 hours of work in local schools, to partner with Orange Unified,” said Dr. Roxanne Greitz Miller, Dean of Attallah College of Educational Studies. “When schools, universities, and local organizations work hand-in-hand, together, we create environments where students not only thrive academically, but also grow into thoughtful and engaged citizens.”

This year’s event theme, “Pathway to Possibilities,” celebrated the exceptional educational programs, resources, and achievements across all levels of learning within the Orange Unified School District. The evening also featured a special charity dinner welcoming individuals who support educational excellence.

Chapman University shares a longstanding commitment to community engagement and educational advancement. Events like the Celebration of Schools reflect the district’s dedication to growth and our shared vision for empowering students.

“While this event is a celebration of schools, it is also a celebration of partnership, and the ways in which schools come together with the broader community to ensure that every student has access to opportunities that enrich their educational experience,” said Miller“Together, our pathways create possibilities where education is not only accessible, but transformative for every child.”
