May 10, 2024
On Thursday, May 2, 2024, Dr. Tammy Yi of Chapman’s Hall-Musco Conservatory of Music hosted the inaugural music education colloquium featuring Guggenheim Award recipient Dr. Anthony Graziano.
A pioneering figure in the study and treatment of children with autism, the 93-years young Graziano introduced groundbreaking behavior modification programs for children with autism. Moreover, he was the first to use “programmed relaxation” and systematic desensitization techniques to teach these children emotional self-control.
Fun fact: Dr. Anthony Graziano is father to conservatory chair Dr. Amy Graziano!
