headshot of Gabby BelinskyWe are deeply saddened to share the news of the passing of Gabriela Belinsky, clinical assistant professor in Crean College’s physician assistant program. Prior to joining the PA faculty in 2017, she was a member of the Student Health Center providing healthcare to Chapman students for six years. As a healthcare provider and then again as a faculty member, Gabriela was known for her optimism, dedication to educating future PAs, collegiality, and devotion to her family.

Ms. Belinsky was committed to the interprofessional education of all graduate students at Rinker. She knew that highly effective healthcare required collaboration and communication among teams of healthcare providers and the patient and family. As a member of the Rinker campus interprofessional education committee she sought out ways to focus on team-based healthcare when educating the next generation of physician assistants, physical therapists, and pharmacists. Directing the IPE committee at Rinker was an important goal.

Dean Hill shared, “Even during the most difficult times, she maintained a commitment to the PA program and its students.  She was such an optimist.  She was a breath of fresh air.  Gabby was an ardent believer in IPE and had the goal of leading IPE once she could return consistently to campus. She will be deeply missed by our faculty, staff and students.”

Gabriela was only 51. She left behind her husband Peter and her four children, Emma, Luke, Paul, and Ruth. We will keep her husband and children in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
