Headshot of NaveenMFT Department Chair, Naveen Jonathan has been awarded the 2024 Loma Linda University School of Behavioral Health Alumnus of the Year Award. This award was given by his alma mater for his work in the field of Marriage & Family Therapy on the local, state and national levels with the American Association of Marriage & Family Therapy (AAMFT). The award was also given for his work in COAMFTE accreditation where the Chapman MFT Program became the first nationally accredited MFT program where all of its students were assessed for clinical competency using a competency based approach. In addition, the award was presented for establishing the training component for Chapman MFT students to participate in interdisciplinary programs grounded in Medical Family Therapy such as Stroke Boot Camp, Pediatric Family Support Group, Cognitive Communication Group and Parkinson’s Boot Camp.
