Since March 2020, most students taking classes on the Orange campus, have been learning remotely.  I am so eager to welcome back our juniors and seniors, and to welcome to campus our sophomores and freshmen, who have never been on campus.  The college faculty and staff are committed to re-establishing the Crean student-centered community through engaging you in on-campus learning, research and internship experiences, and clubs and organizations.  What an exciting time for all of us!!

You have received information from Dean of Students Jerry Price on vaccine and masking policies.  Questions you may have should be directed to his office.  Please be proactive and take the steps necessary for you to be on campus as an active member of the Crean community.  We are committed to teaching you in person;  we are ready to step away from online learning platforms.  So, please do your part and be ready to jump into the Crean College, on-campus community.

The college has continued its trajectory to excellence throughout the pandemic.  I am pleased to introduce new faces:

Psychology Administrative Coordinator:

  • Mrs. Nancy Arteaga

Psychology New Faculty:

Health Science New Faculty:

  • Dr. Dede Teteh

I’m also pleased to announce the promotion of Heidi Girolamo (formerly Swanson) to Manager of Student and Alumni Experiences and Community Outreach.  Her office will continue with career and internship advising and placement but will expand to include assistance with global education, first-generation experiences, bridge experiences to graduate programs at Chapman and with other universities, alumni partnerships, and other initiatives enhancing your experiences as undergraduate students.  Her office is located in Crean Hall, room 202.

For sophomores and incoming freshmen, don’t forget Convocation, August 24, 7:00 PM, Holly and David Wilson Field.  For freshmen, don’t forget the College’s welcome dinner, August 25, 4:00 PM, at Attallah Plaza.

Welcome back, everyone!!!
