Steven TrinhCrean College’s Steven Trinh (Applied Human Physiology & Psychology) received the prestigious and competitive ARVO travel grant this spring. It will cover the meeting registration and travel costs to attend and present at the ARVO 2022 Annual Meeting May 1-4th in Denver, Colorado. ARVO stands for the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology and is a research organization helping scientists worldwide understand the visual system and prevent, treat, and cure its disorders. The ARVO Travel Grant is awarded to about 70 participants internationally whose research findings are considered “to be of high interest to the vision and ophthalmology research community”.

We interviewed Steven who shared, “I’m excited I will be using this grant to travel with my fellow lab members and our Principal Investigator Dr. Sharma. I began conducting research with Dr. Sharma about a year ago, researching tear film-mucous layer dysfunction and pathogenesis of diabetes-associated & graft versus host disease ocular surface diseases. Our research will be presented in Denver, Colorado in May. I am honored to have received this grant and incredibly proud to be working amongst such a dedicated group of scientists. It is remarkable that our research will be representing Chapman University’s dedication to scientific excellence at such a high level.”

Congratulations Steven on this impressive honor!
