True Grit [Update]
December 7, 2010
As you may have noticed from our ever-observant commenters, on my last post announcing True Grit, one of the young stars of the Coen Brothers’ latest, is Hailee Steinfeld, who made her screen debut in several films produced by Dodge College students!
We’ve just received clearance to honor Ms. Steinfeld, and our alumni, by sharing with you one of her most successful films, winner of numerous festival accolades: “She’s a Fox” (2009), a hilarious coming-of-age comedy… sort of.
The film runs 18 minutes, and was directed by Cameron Sawyer, Produced by Ashley Zostrow, with Cinematography by Jennifer Makhoul, Edited by Julia MacMullen (who also worked on Let Me In), Production Design by Ora Yashar, with help from many more Dodge students and alumni.
“Infatuated with the hottest girl in school, fifth-grader Cameron Sawyer puts everything on the line – including his mullet – to win the girl of his dreams.”
As for True Grit, the evening’s main event, here are a few very important notes about security, cell phones, waiting in line for a seat, and RSVPs, from our lovely and talented Events and Outreach Coordinator, Sorrel Geddes:
Cell Phone Policy

Security will be screening all guests upon entry and you will be asked to return any devices to your car if they are on your person. No exceptions will be granted. If you are caught in the theater with a phone you will be removed and not allowed to re-enter. No Exceptions!Entrance
We have been allotted a very small number of seats – we cannot guarantee that you will get into the screening. Seats will be allotted from the will call line. You are welcome to line up for entrance in the designated will call line (beside Marion Knott Studios) on December 11th at 4:30pm to receive your seating order. You must present your student ID in order to receive access to the screening. Thank you, in advance, for your patience!
So, in order to secure your best shot at seeing these amazing films:

I’ll see you there!
