Advice on your Admission Video for B.F.A. Film Production Prospective Students
September 17, 2013
Hello prospective Film Production students,
Every year we get dozens of questions about what we are looking for in our Film Production admission video essay. While there is no wrong or right way to compose a video, the main thing we are looking for is how you represent yourself and how you demonstrate your creativity visually.
We want to see videos with well-crafted stories or messages, videos with a clear purpose, cohesive images, originality and uniqueness; how the words, music, images and storyline all come together to represent you as an individual.
We are not so concerned with the image quality and technical skills because those are secondary to your storytelling. Don’t get hung up on the picture quality. If your message is creative and unique, that will show through more than the quality of camera you used.
Since these are self-introduction videos, no two videos are alike. We have complied some of our top Film Production videos over the course of the last few years. These videos act as examples, and by no means should be duplicated. They range from a comedic perspective to a dramatic approach. The common factor in all of these is that the message is clear and concise no matter which approach was taken. Film Production Admission Videos
