I am pleased to announce that Dodge College will be hosting the (CILECT) North America Sound & Storytelling Conference, March 22-24, 2018 at Chapman University’s Dodge College of Film and Media Arts in Orange, California.

CNA 2018

Designed to appeal to those who have a broader interest in the art and craft of film and individuals who specialize in sound for film or related media, the conference will focus on the expressive and narrative use of sound in film, television and related media through keynote speakers, master classes, workshops, demonstrations, and panel discussions involving both educators and industry professionals.

Call for Papers/Presentations:

Proposals should relate to the presentation of historical, theoretical and/or practical perspectives on the use of sound, music and sound design, in film or related media. We are also interested in proposals that deal with the teaching of sound in film or related media. Presentations will be about 20 minutes long followed by a 10 minutes Q and A session. Please submit a short description of your paper/presentation to cna2018@chapman.edu. 

We will accept submissions until January 31 2018.

Registration:

The registration fee for the conference will be $ 300 (USD) for general attendees and $85 (USD) for students. Registration will open January 10, 2018.

We have an exciting and diverse selection of speakers. Our Keynote Speaker is Academy Award®-winner Mark Mangini who sound designed Mad Max: Thunder Road and Blade Runner 2049.
