The beginning of the semester is upon us. The students are moving back in. The freshman are getting settled. Projects are beginning.

But the question everyone is asking is “How’s the Pokemon around Dodge College?”

Well, since you are still getting situated, we thought we’d help you out with this handy guide to the Pokemon, Pokestops, and Gyms located in the area, so you can catch ’em all on your way to class. In addition to that, you’ll be able to find some cool places and explore Orange a bit. So, sit down, get ready, and plan out your Pokestop tour!

First of all, many of you may have already noticed that Dodge College itself has not one, not two, but three Pokestops, all located on our grounds.

First up is Dodge College itself. You’ll need to be standing in our lobby area in order to visit this one.

While in the lobby, you can also use the Pokestop connected to the Cinema Architectonica sculpture.

If you head out the back door just past the stages, and head to the far end of our parking lot, you’ll be able to find the Dodge College Sign.

Just up the street from Dodge is this historical mural, which you can get to quite easily.

Since you’re already outside, you might as well head toward Ruby’s to visit the Pokestops located at the Orange Metrolink Station. The station itself is its own stop, as you can see.

There is also an historic landmark located here, so you can learn a bit about the site AND refresh your pokeballs.

Of course, if you’re feeling up to the task, the Pedestrian Underpass is a gym. Dodge College students will surely be battling here frequently, since it is so close to Marion Knott Studios.

Close to the train station is a memorial remembering our Veterans, which also doubles as a Pokestop.

Once finished, you can make your way toward the Chapman campus. You’ll pass the alumni house, which is an historic building to begin with, but also a great place for your lures.

You may even get hungry on your journey, so it’s a good thing that Bruxie doubles as a delicious meal and a pokestop.

Chapman’s campus offers a plethora of Pokestops, such as the Fahmy Attallah Fountain, located right in front of the library.

There is also the Albert Schweitzer bust.

Campus proper only has one gym, and it will surely be a fierce battleground as the semester goes on. Try to maintain your hold over Suki the Panther, as it will sure to change hourly.

Of course, Orange in general as a wide variety of places and things to say, so be sure to head toward the circle for even more surprises, like this fantastic Old Towne Orange sign.

The first bank ever opened in Orange is also a popular Pokestop. Because of its proximity to other Pokestops, you’ll often find people hanging around here all weekend, dropping lures, and collecting Pokemon.

The many alleyways and side streets of Orange offer some hidden artistic gems, like this Orange in the Alley near Starbucks…

Though Chapman has a wonderful library, there is also the Orange Public Library, which has a fantastic history center in it as well. Just be sure to keep it down for those studying!
