School Psychology Student Recieves Prestegious Scholarship

The CES is proud to announce our own School Psychology Student, Molly Siprasoeuth was awarded the Cultural and Linguistically Diversity Scholarship at the California Association of School Psychologists on April 16, 2011. Molly is a second year student who is currently completing her practicum fieldwork in the Los Alamitos Unified School District.
Each year CASP awards a Cultural and Linguistically Diversity Scholarship to a student who represents a culturally diverse minority group. The goal of the CLD Scholarship to promote opportunities for the recruitment of school psychologists responsive to the ethnic, cultural and linguistic backgrounds of the individual children who are part of the increasingly diverse population of California. The $1,000 scholarship is renewable for three years, or until the student graduates. Applicants are evaluated based on academic competencies, oral and written communications skills, community involvement, commitment to working in the public schools as an agent of change, and evidence of the knowledge of the demands of the vocation of school psychology.
