Dr. Kris De Pedro, Assistant Professor in the College of Educational Studies, will visit the White House on April 13, 2016, to share his research about Educational Reform.  Dr. De Pedro is part of a group of educational researchers who are dedicated to making schools safe and inclusive spaces for children experiencing tremendous trauma related to war and violence.
Joining Forces
, an initiative led by First Lady of the United States, Michelle Obama, and Second Lady of the United States, Dr. Jill Biden, seeks to ensure that all service members, veterans, and their families have the tools needed to succeed throughout their lives. Co-sponsoring the White House gathering is the Military Child Education Association.

Dr. De Pedro teaches primarily in the Ph.D. in Education, Leadership Studies, and the M.A. in Leadership Development. He earned his Ph.D. in Urban Educational Policy from the University of Southern California. His most recent work is on LGBTQ youth and the children of military-service members.
