Brittney Pacini ’18 and Hayleigh Herrera ’18

Two Attallah College graduates were recently selected to be the California Association of School Counselors’ 2018–2019 School Counseling Emerging Leaders. Brittney Pacini and Hayleigh Herrera both graduated from Chapman this spring with a Master of Arts in Counseling and Pupil Personnel Services Credential (PPSC).

The CASC School Counselor Emerging Leaders (SCEL) Program provides recent graduates with leadership training and mentoring opportunities. Throughout the year, Pacini and Herrera will participate in multiple professional development opportunities and network with school counseling professionals across the state. Both will also be attending the 2018 CASC Leadership Development Institute this summer and presenting together this Fall 2018 at the Annual CASC Conference in Riverside.

“I am very excited to be able to learn invaluable leadership skills, make connections with all levels of school counseling professionals, hone my advocacy skills, and gain skills to become a well-rounded counselor!” said Brittney Pacini, who is continuing to acquire clinical counseling hours at a center for adolescents and studying to become a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC).

At the beginning of May, Hayleigh Herrera was hired as a middle school counselor at Desert Ridge Academy, in Coachella Valley’s Desert Sands Unified School District, where she graduated high school.

“I feel so honored to return home and have the opportunity to serve my community!” said Hayleigh Herrera.
