As Dean of the Attallah College of Educational Studies, a member of the American Association of Colleges for Teacher Education, I affirm today’s AACTE statement that highlights the importance of building a diverse and representative education workforce to serve America’s school children, the majority of whom identify as students of color, and the role of universities in meeting this critical need. I believe it is only through intentional and deliberate efforts that we may enact Attallah College’s vision to transform teaching, learning, and social communities toward an inclusive, equitable, and just world. As Dean, I personally invite all who believe in this vision to join us in continuing this work. Our established admission practices, which remain unchanged by today’s Supreme Court decision, are rooted in making Attallah College’s vision a reality.
