Our GCI 250 students have been hard at work, making exciting progress on their interdisciplinary group projects. Each team has been using their creative and technical skills to collaborate and tackle real-world issues. Keep reading to see some highlights of our GCI 250 teams!
- FETCH: A Synthesizing Smart Dog Collar
- Members: Torki Alghamdi, Tristan Horgan, Michael Kenny, Ben Lehrer, Soren Marius, Sofia Morales Vilchis
- Inspired by the benefits of wearable technology
- Wanted to help pet owners who are not qualified to diagnose their dogs
- Received advice from researcher at Animal Welfare Education Centre
- PhishFighters: Educational Game about Spam Email Identification
- Members: Stella Erlandson, Emma Lu, Max Ludwick, Thuan Luu, Nalia Nurani
- Inspired by prevalence of phishing and inefficiency of deleting masses of emails
- Met with game designers to receive pieces of advice
- Diabetes Destroyers: Question-Based App to Identify and Aid with Diabetes Risks
- Members: Jude Abatangelo, Lina Al-Barkouli, Katia Hnatiw, Dylan Massaro, Christy Nader, Andrea Sanchez
- Students connected through health and technology-related interests
- Received advice from a professional in the Computer Science area
- Small Oil: New Method to Identify for Car Oil Changes via Lasers and Light
- Members: Hunter Belleville, Charlie Conner, Zack Corr, Marshall Longtin, Maks Popov
- Inspiration from oil waste from gas-powered vehicles, and how they will still be a part of our future
- Met with other Chapman students interested in cars
