Planet Forward is a project of the George Washington University School of Media and Public Affairs. Engaging a diverse audience of college students from across the country, Planet Forward uses storytelling, media, and educational events to tell the stories of invention and innovation that can move the planet forward.

Just one of the ways they work with students is their annual storytelling contest, Storyfest, which rewards winners with a storytelling expedition like no other. This year, Planet Forward has invited all the Adobe Creative Campuses to get involved and encourage their own students to submit to Storyfest.

The Planet Forward Storyfest Awards highlight the voices of students seeking to understand and illuminate their own innovations for how to best care for the earth. They are looking for stories that inspire, motivate, and drive change. Stories that are compelling, thought-provoking, and vibrantly stimulating. Be memorable, have an impact — and have fun. Stories are due Monday, February 6, 2023, at 11:59 PM EST.

The winners will travel with Lindblad Expeditions to Iceland on July 15-20, 2023, for an exciting opportunity to see and report on the environmental solutions, preventative measures, and innovations already being developed in the country.

What can my story be about? Some examples:

  • Food
  • Water
  • Energy
  • Mobility
  • The built environment
  • Biodiversity
  • Public health
  • Climate justice
