You may have already heard the news – Skype for Business is being retired by Microsoft.  Their new tool, Microsoft Teams, has been built from the ground up and provides a significantly improved experience for chat, meetings, and collaboration.   As an existing Skype for Business user, we’d like you to try using Microsoft Teams for chat as soon as possible.  Some of the major improvements you’ll notice include:

  • Identical experiences and capabilities, regardless of the device you use – PC, Mac, Mobile
  • Stop chatting on once device and pick up exactly where you left off on another device
  • Excellent group chat capabilities – you can chat with your team, and add additional people with the option of allowing them to see the previous conversation.
  • Easy-to-join video meetings with options to enable live captions, transcriptions and cloud recordings.

Installing Teams

If Microsoft Teams is not already installed on your computer, you can download and install it yourself by visiting the Microsoft App Store.  Alternatively, you can also access Teams from anywhere by logging in at teams.microsoft.com.

And, of course, if you would like assistance with downloading Teams, we’re happy to help. Simply contact the Service Desk at Servicedesk@chapman.edu or (714) 997-6600.
