Kennedy Chair John Eastman to contribute an opinion piece to the New York Times “Room For Debate.” On September 22, 2010, Former Dean Eastman led the online discussion “On-Duty versus Off Duty” with a piece entitled, “Can Speech Be Limited for Public Workers?” The op-ed addressed the First Amendment rights of a New Jersey transit worker who was fired for burning a Koran in his off-duty hours. Former Dean Eastman contrasted the transit worker’s case with the case of a Colorado public school teacher who compared George Bush to Adolf Hitler while at work.
