The Leatherby Libraries has upgraded our subscription to the Roper Center Archives, enabling students, faculty, and staff to download full data sets from this large collection of poll data from U.S. polling firms. The Roper Center Archives contain over 710,000 polling questions from 1935 to the present, with broad topical coverage of opinions and behavior on social issues, politics, pop culture, international affairs, and more.

Users must create a free personal account in order to download data sets or use certain other features of this new, full subscription. Many of the data sets are available in CSV format and readable with programs like Microsoft Excel, but some may only be available in formats like ASCII or require specialized software like SPSS. A list of specialized software available in the computer labs or at public access areas is available on Information Systems & Technology’s (IS&T) website.
